About us

Tattoo Tourism connects international guests with Hungarian tattoo artists, so that a tattoo becomes part of a journey rather than just an appointment.

We believe that with a great tattoo it isn't the closest studio that matters, but finding the artist who fits you best.

How the idea was born

In Austria, Switzerland and many other Western European countries, a high-quality tattoo can cost significantly more than in Hungary.

Meanwhile Hungary is home to a large number of experienced, talented tattoo artists working at exactly the same artistic level.

That's where the idea came from: what if you travelled to Hungary not only for a great tattoo, but ended up financially better off as well?

In some cases the travel, the accommodation and the tattoo together can still cost less than having the same piece done back home.

Tattoo Tourism is built on that simple realisation.

Why Hungary?

The idea only works if the art is genuinely worth the trip.

01

Quality artists

Hungary has developed a strong and diverse tattoo culture, spanning fine line and traditional work, realism and blackwork, all the way to large custom projects.

02

A different price level

Local tattoo prices are often more favourable than in Austria or Switzerland, for example — and the concept is not built on lowering artistic quality.

03

Easy to turn into a trip

Budapest is easy to reach from many parts of Europe, so a tattoo can be combined with a few days in the city.

Premium work, a more favourable price level

Quality without compromise

Tattoo prices in Hungary are generally significantly more favourable than in Western Europe, while the selected artists work to an international standard. That can make travelling to Hungary worthwhile for a carefully designed, one-of-a-kind tattoo.

The final price always depends on the chosen artist, the size, detail and placement of the design, and the number of sessions required.

A tattoo worth travelling for

A tattoo can be more than a date in the calendar.

It can be part of a journey, a new city and a memory that stays with you long after you fly home.

Tattoo Tourism exists to help you find artists genuinely worth travelling for — and to make Budapest part of the story.
